The history of the delicious Maccheroncini di Campofilone IGP has very ancient origins. It was the pasta that was usually used by the peasant families of the village of Campofilone, when they needed to preserve the large quantities of eggs produced by the hens reared in the courtyard. The eggs were then kneaded to make the dough which was dried and stored throughout the year.
